> > >Our mailing list is how we keep in touch. It is one of the most important lifelines in our Family's genealogical research. There is no bunch of Rules as to what you can or cannot do. Just use your adult discretion and don't stray too far from the subject of the Dent Family, genealogy and possibly a bit of computer help.

The mail is handled by a robot in California. If you try to tell it something, the poor things gets all rattled. That's why it asks for a single word. The important part though, is POSTING. When you post a letter, everybody who has subscribed gets a copy at the same time. If your note is strictly personal, it may be better to send it as personal E-mail, but if it has anything to do with the Dent Family, let's share it. Surprisingly, a chance remark may open a whole new area for someone on the other side of the country. There is also a Digest form. You get the same material, but it is saved up and sent to you in batches. It really helps to cut back on your traffic. If you prefer that, just change the "-L-" in the above "Subscription Form" to a "-D-". That's it. So, the Mail is where we can ask questions about missing relatives, find links to other Dent-related groups, reunions and activities, refer to other Dent webpages, post queries and discuss all kinds of things related to the Dent Family. Asking for a little computer help is not amiss, but we try to stay on the subject. Poems, recipes, etc. have their own lists - but they are somewhere else. Here we talk only about the Dents. Notice that this address is slightly different from the subscribing address. But this is the one to use most all of the time. You might like to make a note of it in your address book or bookmark it for future use. The proper URL is: Dent-L@rootsweb.com This service is freely provided for us by Rootsweb. This used to be an independent Data Cooperative but is now a part of Ancestry.com. We appreciate their generosity. When you would like to research the files or just see what has gone before, then go to the Archives for all the mail for a given month. Choose Interactive if you prefer a list where you can look up a name or date.:
