Comments:
George FR is my ancestor. He dropped the Fitz from the name when he came south. He settled in Augusta, GA and was married to a lady named in his will as Mary. We believe she was a Bacon and her brother John was a witness to his will as was Col. Samuel Jack. His will was signed and witnessed July 1778. He was a Lt. in the GA milita. He had a son, Richard, "son of Sarah Robinson" as stated in his will. His son Edward, my ggg-gf came to Wilkinson Co., MS. His son George was a publisher in Augusta and a member of the GA legislature.
I have George FR's marriage record to Sarah Robinson in 1764 from the New Jersey Archives. There was a son from that marriage named Richard in George's will in GA. At the time the will was drawn up, George says that Richard was "at the North Ward" which I also assume was the North Ward in Philadelphia where his uncle Edward FR (George's baby brother) lived. I also assume he may have been in school there. I have seen a map of Philadelphia in 1776 and there is a north ward with an academy therein. Richard received 800 lbs. GA currency in the will. That is all I know about Richard.
