at 10:30 PM, Friday, December 30.
Seventh son of Ray Lewis Rhymes by his 2nd wife, Annie Ella Ames
Dr E.M. Murphey attending. Birth Certificate No.49702 registered
in Bureau of Vital Statistics, Jackson, MS.
1933 Started school in September. Died of pneumonia. (Dr. Murphey was
hard of hearing.) Started again the next year.
1941 Realized that I march to a different drummer.
1942 Awarded the American Legion School Award on May 24.
1943 Father died February 14 - St. Valentine's Day - the perfect mentor
1945 Graduated Kemper County Agricultural High School (Scooba, MS) in
August. Took 12th grade there to finish before military service.
1945 Entered Mississippi State College, Starkville, to major in
chemical engineering.
1946 Drafted, US Army, Medical Corps, April 4.
1947 Discharged from Army May, 5. General demobilization
1947 Entered East Central Junior College at Decatur, June
1948 Transferred to the University of Mississippi, Oxford, January
1948 Initiated Sigma Chi fraternity, June, 25.
Joined US Naval Reserve
Sailed aboard US Haynesworth, DD700 for 2 week training cruise
in the Caribbean. Visited Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Port au
Prince, Haiti
1949 Awarded Cross of Military Service, United Daughters of the

1983 Mother died in Tupelo, MS, on 11-21-83. She was 91.
1984 Bought Minuteman Press franchise for Kenner, LA
1984 Listed in WHO'S WHO, in the South and Southwest (19th Edition)
1985 Heart attack, "Only the good die young."
1986 Sold Minuteman, began the Longstreet Press, 734 Orleans, New Orleans. Sept.
1987 Hired Dennis Ellard Villorente as Manager, Longstreet Press, December 30.
1991 Adopted Dennis as Dennis Longstreet Rhymes, August 2.
1994 Closed Press and Returned to Longstreet Village
1997 Moved back to the French Quarter
1996-9 During this period I developed genealogical websites and mailing lists for:
Monmouth County,NJ; Currituck County,NC; Macon County,GA; and the Census Lookups.
Subsequently as they grew larger, these have been turned over to others.
Presently I still maintain these family sites:
Ames, Barron, Clower, Dent, Fitz-Randolph, Holden, Longstreet, Lucas, Marshall,
McVey, Rhymes, Rosser, Spann, Willis, Yates
1999 Sold Longstreet Village after nearly a quarter century, for nearly 3 quarter million.
1999 Developed websites for:
Noxubee County, MS and
The State of Delaware, ALHN,
2000 Bought a home in the French Quarter at 931 Chartres, in 140 year old condominium.
2001 Bought another condominium in the Quarter, at 526 Madison, New Orleans for rental.
2001 Old age has given me Stasis Dermatitis, merely ugly and annoying.
2003 Sold Madison place.
2003 Contracted Meniere's Disease, an incurable major nuisance.
2003 Ordained into the Church of Spiritual Humanism, by email. Nov 17
2004 Bought another condominium in the French Quarter, at 1204 Chartres, for rental.
2004 Developed website for The State of Mississippi, ALHN.
2004 Revised and republished the old website for Monmouth County, NJ, ALHN.
2004 Developed a Super Site to locate all states in the 3 major genealogical networks,
AGHP, ALHN, and USGenWeb.
2005 Became Webmaster for the Noxubee County Historical Society (NCHS), Mississippi
2005 Hurricane Katrina practically destroyed New Orleans. Enforced evacuation sent us
all over the country. About 250 of us were shipped off to Greenville, SC. Later
I bought a condo in Fernandina Beach in Nassau County in the north east corner of Florida.
2006 Another year, another problem. Now it's seborrheic keratosis.
2007 Alas - and now I've got diabetes - with needles in my fingers for the rest of my life.

2008 Bought a place for Michael, 2.5 acres with a concrete block house, a mobile home and lots of
